The numerous line-up changes, that Iced Earth had, inevitably led to a huge delay of writing new material. But it seems that Tim "Ripper" Owens found another way to express his creativity. He formed Beyond Fear just to play the music he likes...Judas Priest music.

The whole album has the feeling of "Jugulator" and "Demolition" and the comparison with these two albums is inevitable. The album starts with "Sream Machine", a song that describes Owens. Songs like "Coming At You" and "I Don't Need This" are realy heavy and you listen to them again and again. And also you'll start thinking that Owens should be with Judas Priest !!!

Owens voice is perfect once again but it is clear that his voice needs powerful music too. Unfortunately this happens only in 3-4 songs. The guitar parts although they are pretty good, they can't accent Ripper's voice. Probably this happens because the production is not the best. The drums are vanished in the backround and the guitars don't sound so heavy as they should be. I realy can't understand how this happened since the album was produced by Jim Morris!

Muscily the ablum is good enough, but it could be much heavier!

These are the best news since this site was published online. Ronnie James Dio is going to reunite with Iommi, Butler and Ward! This was the line-up when Black Sabbath released the legendary "Heaven And Hell" and "The Mob Rules".

The following post can be found on R.J.D. Official Site:

"The highly anticipated reunion of Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward appears to be shaping up and taking a new form.

After various promoters have approached their respective management; the guys have started taking all of this very seriously, as they have wanted to reunite for some time now. It looks as if the new shape may be that of Heaven and Hell. Yes, that's the moniker that the band is likely to use on their new venture.

If all goes well, Heaven and Hell should be hitting the road in early 2007."

Has it ever happenned to you, especially if you listen mysic by the gigabyte like me, to listen to a few new records in a row and start to wonder what was all the fuss about, I've heard that stuff a milion times before. And then you hit the fast-forward button, and tracks keep changing like jingles and then you think to yourself nevermind, I'll place it in the "I'll listen to that later" folder, only to be kept there until the next disk format? Eh, well those were my feelings exactly, till the moment i started listening to "Royksopp - The understanding " album produced in 2005.

And that took place on Tuesday... and I simply just can't get enough... City music banging inside my ears and nocturnal lights so flashy yet so tender to watch...So impressive that I'm starting to wonder...Maybe that six-month winter in Iceland can be productive after all...

It seems that Roadrunner is desperade for cash. And the easiest way to earn some money is to release compilations. Indeed Roadrunnner Records recently released numerous Best of albums. One of them is the "Best Of Sepultura".

Sepultura had a contract with Roadrunner until the release of "Nation" in 2001. Although this compilation contains songs only from the Cavalera period (Until the release of "Roots" in 1996). Actulay Sepultura died when Max Cavalera left the band.

Anyway, if you want to know what realy Thrash Metal is then you MUST listen to Sepultura. Sepultura was one of the most important thrash metal bands not only because their music kicks-ass but also becuase they realy have mature lyrics. (Aah, this brings back memories)

This Best of is great opportunity for new fans to discover Sepultura by buying only one cd. This tracklist is realy a best of Sepultura. Songs like "Arise", "Territory" and "Beneath The Reamains" are realy neck-brakers while "Dead Emryonic Cells" and "Refuse/Resist" are just classics. Indeed the best 13 songs of Sepultura are here. Alhtough, there is no reason for old fans to spend any money in this.

Tracklist

2. Beneath The Remains
3. Inner Self

It seems that Iced Earth keep changing their line-up. Once again, Jon Schaffer is searching for new band members. It's worth to mention that one month ago, Iced Earth got a new guitarist. Now, the drummer Brent Smedley is returning to the band. At Iced Earth's official website Jon Schaffer made the following post:

"Hello Friends,

I just wanted to make a quick and exciting announcement that I think many of you will be very happy about. Brent Smedley is coming back to Iced Earth for the recording and touring of the Something Wicked saga Parts 1& 2, and beyond. For those of you not familiar you can hear Brent's amazing drumming on the Alive in Athens CD, which in my opinion is the best thing about the recording. I can tell you that on a personal level this makes me very happy. Brent left the band about seven years ago due to personal issues and I've missed him ever since. WELCOME BACK BROTHER!! The machine gun tight rhythm section is back!!!!

I wish Bobby Jarzombek the best of luck in his future endeavors, it was a pleasure jamming with him in the short time that we did.

Due to a personal situation Ernie Carletti will not be able to participate in band activities. I will be making a significant announcement concerning the guitar and bass player positions very soon.

Also, the writing is going well and things are on track. I will post some details soon on www.icedearth.com. As challenging as this gigantic story is to tell in music, I have no doubt that it will be the pinnacle of Iced Earth's work thus far. Take care all. More news is coming soon.

Jon Schaffer"
