"This time we're taking a new direction with out songs, and we're exploring different styles," says Tempest. "There is a definite classic rock vibe on several tracks on this album - a tip of the hat to groovin', funkin' 70's rock songs, with a modern twist."

Adds Tempest - "We've got a couple of great ballads, plus some thundering rock tracks that will put you flat on your ass! We've taken the best bits from our recent albums and taken it to a new level 'Last Look at Eden' is more of a Europe album than 'Secret Society' or 'Start From The Dark'. We had to make those albums in order to do this."

Prior to the main full album, the band will issue a special mini-album with 5-tracks and a video on August 10th. This will be on CD in a deluxe digi-pack and digital download.

Conceived as a gift to the fans and a way to introduce the upcoming new studio album of the same title the Last Look At Eden mini album features two brand new songs. It seems that Tim 'Ripper' Owens is really active lately. Not long after completing his personal album 'Play My Game' he jumped to the studio with acclaimed metal drummer Richard Christy (Death, Iced Earth) and has completed laying down vocals for the debut album from Charred Walls of The Damned.

The recording sessions are taking place at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof, who has previously worked with Trivium, All That Remains, Daath and God Forbid, among others.

Christy recently stated about Charred Walls of The Damned, "I must say that I'm totally blown away by how everything is sounding! Jason Suecof is playing guitar and producing and he did such an incredible job on the album. He's not only an awesome guitar player but he's an amazing producer, and I'm so psyched with how everything turned out. The drum sound that Jason and engineer Mark Lewis got for me is astounding! The bass god Steve DiGiorgio [Sadus, Testament, Death] also flew down to Florida to lay down some monster bass tracks that people will be blown away by when they hear!"

Charred Walls of The Damned's debut CD is tentatively due in early November via Metal Blade Records.

Charred Walls of The Damned is:

Richard Christy - Drums
Jason Suecof - Guitar, Producer
Tim "Ripper" Owens - Vocals
Steve Digiorgio - Bass

Cradle of Filth - The Death of Love - Video

Vocalist Dani "Filth" Davey of British extreme metallers Cradle of Filth has posted a lengthy update on the band's MySpace blog.

"The video for 'The Death Of Love' is now finished and [can be viewed below].

The premise for this track is very much along the same lines as the lyrics for the song, featuring a defiant Joan of Arc and a brooding Gilles De Rais slung about an evocative dungeon band performance. There is definitely a very sinister vibe to the proceedings and some people have already compared it to 'Her Ghost In The Fog' for its eerie cinematography."

"The Death Of Love" comes off Cradle of Filth's new album, "Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder", which entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 37. The CD sold a little over 11,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 48 on The Billboard 200 chart.

"Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder" is conceptual and is based on the well-documented, true-life fall from grace of a shadowy historical figure named Gilles de Rais, a wealthy French nobleman who was one of Joan of Arc's brothers-in-arms. He was best known, however, as a prolific serial killer who mixed prayers with his nightly murders as well as an aspiring alchemist. He was accused of a panoply of crimes, among them heresy, demonology and kidnapping. There's even an extreme fringe sect of historians who question de Rais' true status, with some convinced he was framed.
