Two candidates of the Republican Party presidential nomination, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, used R.E.M.'s music in their election events.
Specifically make input in their speeches, with the classic "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)".
R.E.M.'s singer Michael Stipe got ungry by that and he wrote :
"Fuck off pathetically hungry for power and attention weaklings. Do not use our music for your stupid comedy" , on his twitter account.
