Rush are preparing their 20th studio album "Clockwork Angels". Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush has announced the upcoming release of their eagerly anticipated new single. "Caravan" — which will be featured on the legendary band's forthcoming album, "Clockwork Angels" — will be available at all DSPs on June 1 and serviced to radio simultaneously.

"Caravan" will be bundled with an additional new album track, entitled "BU2B". Both tracks were recorded earlier this year in Nashville with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz, who previously collaborated with Rush on 2007's critically acclaimed "Snakes & Arrows". Rush will return to the studio to resume recording after the completion of the upcoming "Time Machine Tour", with plans to release their 20th studio album, "Clockwork Angels", in 2011.

The "Time Machine Tour" will begin June 29 at Albuquerque, New Mexico's Hard Rock Casino and then travel North America through early October. The band is currently busy preparing for the tour, which include both "Caravan" and "BU2B" on each evening's setlist alongside other RUSH favorites. In addition, the band will be performing its 1981 masterpiece, "Moving Pictures", in its entirety for the first time ever. Both "Caravan" and "BU2B" will also be offered as a special limited-edition CD single, available to fans through the band's official web site as well as through various pre-sale tour packages.

In related news, Zoë Vision, in association with Banger Films, is poised to release the band's critically acclaimed, award-winning documentary, "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage", on DVD and Blu-ray. Set to arrive in stores everywhere on June 29, "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" made its world premiere last April at New York City's ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival. The film proved both a critical and popular sensation, with filmmakers Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn taking home the festival's coveted "Heineken Audience Award".

"Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" explores the forty-year career and phenomenon behind what could be the world's biggest cult band. The film presents a comprehensive exploration of this extraordinary power trio, from their early days in Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day. The documentary features never-before-seen archival footage as well as interviews with some of today's most respected rock artists such as Sebastian Bach, Jack Black, Billy Corgan, Kirk Hammett, Taylor Hawkins, Trent Reznor, and Gene Simmons.

The "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" DVD/Blu-ray will feature a second disc of exclusive bonus material, including previously unseen interviews, outtakes, backstage footage, and ultra-rare live performances of such Rush favorites as "La Villa Strangiato", "Working Man" and "YYZ".

In addition to its DVD/Blu-ray release, "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" will also begin theatrical engagements across the country on June 10. Type rest of post here

Slipknot's Paul Gray Found Dead

Probably, this is the worst month in metal history. After Dio and Peter Steele, it was time for Paul Gray from Slipknot to left us.
According to the Des Moines Register, Urbandale, Iowa police are investigating the death of Slipknot 's bass guitarist at a local hotel. There was no evidence of foul play, police said.

According to KCCI.com, the Polk County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting in the death investigation and will perform an autopsy on Tuesday. Toxicology testing will be completed to determine if there were any contributing factors in the death of Gray, police said. Witnesses reported that items from the hotel room were carried out of the hotel around 2 p.m.

Gray was born in Los Angeles, California, and later moved to Des Moines. Back in 2003, authorities agreed to drop drug possession charges against Paul Gray in exchange for Gray's acknowledgment that he was on drugs when he was involved in a minor traffic accident (Story#1, Story#2) in the summer of 2003 in Des Moines. Des Moines police arrested Gray on June 1, 2003 after his car collided with a car at Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and Carpenter Avenue. A police report at the time said Gray "had impaired balance, slurred and dull speech, and extremely sleepy and dull behavior."

In the November 2008 issue of Revolver magazine, Gray spoke openly about his struggle with drug addiction and how it affected
Slipknot during the songwriting and recording process for both 2001's "Iowa" and 2004's "Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses".

"I was pissed at Corey [Taylor,
Slipknot vocalist] and Jim [Root, Slipknot guitarist] for doing [their side project] Stone Sour," he said. "I thought, 'Fuck, we should be working on Slipknot .' But we really needed that time apart. During the downtime I played with Unida and jammed with friends, but mostly I did a lot of drinking and some drugs — some heavy, heavy drugs… lots of heroin. I was shooting speedballs every day. And then pills. I was on everything, man. In the beginning I kind of had my shit under control, but after a while, no. I became an addict."

He added, "I wrote a bunch of stuff [for 'Vol. 3'] — like I do every record — but I would spend half the time in the bathroom [shooting up]. I'd be trying to play, and I'd fall out of my chair a couple times and fall asleep in the middle of tracking a song. There was a lot of depression going on. I wasn't mad at anybody, but everyone else was and I felt, 'Oh, fuck, my family is falling apart.' This has been the best thing that ever happened to me. And once you get to a certain point with drugs it's fuckin' so hard going through withdrawal. It's not that you don't want to quit. You just can't. Halfway through the record, the band had an intervention on me and I ended up going to rehab."

He continued, "Going through rehab in L.A. kept me good for a little while, but then we got back out on the road and I just knew too many people and I started using a lot again on and off. I had some near-death experiences — nothing I'm gonna go into any detail about — but I definitely pushed it to the very end and I'm still here. I have friends, though, who pushed it just the same way, and they are dead. Finally, I got left in rehab at the end of the arena tour with Shadows Fall and Lamb Of God and I missed the last six shows. Then, afterwards… Well, idle hands do the devil's work. I met my wife and she stayed with me and helped me, but then I'd full on run with it. Finally she said, 'I can't sit around and watch you kill yourself.' I was living in L.A. at the time, which wasn't helping because it was so easy [to get drugs]. So, I moved back to Iowa with her and went to my doctor and got straightened out. And it's been a good couple years now that I've been clean."

Check bellow an amazing band called VTT and their new video "The Victim" which comes from the latest album Symptoms Of Sin.

New Jersey’s VTT will kick off the band’s “Victims of Sin” Summer Tour May 15 in Akron, Ohio, continuing to support the band’s third full-length release, ‘Symptoms Of Sin’. The record, produced by Biohazard and Suicide City guitarist Billy Graziadei at his Underground Sound Studios (Sick Of It All, Life Of Agony, Pantera), has led VTT to gigs alongside W.A.S.P., Biohazard, Wisdom In Chains, and more, as well as several headlining shows in and around the New Jersey area. The “Victims Of Sin Summer Tour” will take the band outside its tri-state homeland for the first time since the release of ‘Symptoms Of Sins’ in late 2009, heading as far away as Texas before returning back to New York in June for The Second Annual Autism Speaks Charity Car & Truck Show.

Several tracks from ‘Symptoms of Sin’ are now online at the band’s MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/vttrocks). The band’s latest music video, for the lead track “The Victim”, is online along with other performance footage at VTT’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uj-LF_xd7Y). The clip is also featured as an enhanced video segment on the digipack version of ‘Symptoms Of Sin’.

Formed in 2005, VTT released ‘Mandala’ in that same year and ‘Alone In Pain’ in 2007 under the name Voodoo Terror Tribe. ‘Symptoms Of Sin’ marks the recording debut of VTT vocalist Gil-PZ, a Texas transplant that moved to New Jersey to join the band, as well as the band’s shortened moniker of VTT. “The acronym better represents our new approach, and is iconic in its own way,” VTT guitarist Emir Erkal recently stated in an interview. “While in a way we’re a tribe, the term ‘terror’ doesn’t usually apply.”

Black Label Society announced the release day of their upcoming album named Order Of the Black. The press release follows:

"Berserkers of the universe, the wait will soon come to an end: the new BLS opus will drop in less than four months now.  Black Label Society’s brand new album is officially confirmed for an August 10th North American release date.  Order Of the Black will feature Black Label at its best with frontman/lead axeman Zakk Wylde’s signature guitar virtuosity and howling vocals, as well as a propulsive rhythm section, courtesy of bassist J.D. Deservio and drummer Will Hunt, along with a few surprises.  Wylde commented in jest, “The Doom Crew and I have been holed up in the Black Label Bunker for the last few months laying down some of the heaviest, sexiest tracks imaginable.  We can’t wait for Berserkers worldwide to hear the symphonic masterpiece that is the new BLS record!”  Order Of the Black will be released in North America via E1 Music.

In other news, Black Label Society has just been confirmed to headline the second stage of 2010’s Ozzfest.  This marks the band’s sixth appearance on the explosive hard rock package tour.  Please see below for tour dates.  Following Ozzfest, BLS will head out on its own worldwide headlining tour in support of Order Of the Black through 2011.

Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society have become a worldwide phenomenon with die-hard fans all across the globe (affectionately referred to as “Berserkers”) sporting signature BLS gear – leather vests, t-shirts, denim vests with patches, bandanas, etc.  Wylde’s international presence is at an all time high having recently returned from several hugely successful press junkets in China, Japan and Singapore.  Sponsored by Gibson and Epiphone (makers of Wylde’s signature guitars), these trips saw Wylde completing interviews with high-profile media outlets (print and television), as well as signing thousands of autographs at packed in-store events throughout Asia.

In the two decades since Ozzy Osbourne hired him away from his job at a New Jersey gas station, Zakk Wylde has established himself as a guitar icon known and revered the world over. Writing and recording with Osbourne led to multi-platinum success, inspiring him to create the now legendary Black Label Society in 1998.  In the decade plus since, BLS has turned the notion of what a rock band should be upside down by inspiring legions of fans (known as Berserkers) all over the world to follow the mantra: Strength, Determination, Merciless, Forever (SDMF for short).  Wylde and his Berserkers have established a heavy metal institution true to the vision of uncompromising, unfiltered and unrestrained rock n’ roll.
