Faith No More bassist Bill Gould has released the following statement:

"Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat — its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile...

"Throughout our 17 years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe. Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.

"What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right. Meanwhile, we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kick-ass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff.... BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!

"We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.

"Who knows where this will end or what it will bring up... only the future knows. But we are about to find out!"

Faith No More 2009 is:

Mike Bordin - Drums
Roddy Bottum - Keyboards
Bill Gould - Bass
Jon Hudson - Guitar
Mike Patton - Vocals

Patton's publicist told MTV News that Faith No More was playing in Europe only, with no North American dates scheduled.

The exact dates and countries have yet to be confirmed.

Although it was rumored that Faith No More would headline California's Coachella festival in mid-April, only Patton is performing at the event.

According to a posting on Edguy frontman Tobias Sammet's MySpace page, Sammet will release a new album from his Avantasia project before the end of the year. More details will be made available soon.

In a recent interview, Sammet stated about his plans for the forthcoming Avantasia CD, "I will do everything to have the biggest production I've ever had. I am negotiating with an orchestra right at the moment and I just wanna have a bombastic, monumental movie for the ears. And for such an undertaking there is no one who is better than Sascha [Paeth; producer, engineer and guitarist of Avantasia project]; he is like a brother to me."

Avantasia filmed its July 10, 2008 performance at the Masters of Rock festival in Vizovice, Czech Republic for a forthcoming DVD.

The latest album from Avantasia , "The Scarecrow", was officially one of the 20 best-selling albums in whole Europe during the fourth week of January 2008, according to a press release.

Kreator - Hordes of Chaos - Video

"Hordes Of Chaos", the new video from German thrash metal veterans Kreator, can be viewed below. It a mix of Conan with a little of oily Manowar muscles.

Kreator guitarist/vocalist Mille Petrozza told HeadbangersBlog.com about the clip: "It's a little cliché, of course. It's a sword-and-sorcery, 'Conan the Barbarian 300' kind of thing, but it's pretty brutal and I think it's fun. I really like the director and I think he did a good job. It was hard for him, but for us it was easy, because our part took only two ours. But we had to wait a lot because they had to shoot these fighting scenes the whole day. So, we worked for two hours and waited for eight.

"In the video there's a pile of dead people on the ground and we're in the middle of them. Of course, they weren't really dead, but it still felt kind of strange to be between all these people lying on the ground on this hill and it was kind of funny, too because they were there pretending to be dead and we had to perform above them while they just lay there. But they did a great job and I'm really happy."

Kreator Bonus Tracks From Hordes of Chaos Free For Download

Due to "technological chaos," the two live clips that were planned for inclusion on the bonus DVD of Kreator's new album, "Hordes Of Chaos" (which were supposed to be found in the limited-edition digipack/European version) are now available for free download at this location. The clips for "Awakening Of The Gods" and "Coma Of Souls" were both filmed live at the Summer Breeze festival in Germany in 2006.

Kreator is putting the finishing touches on its new video for the title track of "Hordes Of Chaos". The clip was shot on November 2 in Berlin, Germany with director Jörn Heitmann (Ramsmstein), who has also worked on the band's video for the song "Enemy Of God".

"We consciously decided on Moses as our producer for the live recording of the basic tracks at the studio," band mastermind Mille Petrozza explains. "This was the first time since 'Pleasure To Kill' that we worked in this way. The new album is a 100% realistic reflection of Kreator's live qualities. Instead of exploring every little detail to sterile perfection with the help of computer technology, this time around we wanted to deliver as dynamic a production as possible. There can be no doubt that we've achieved our target in 'Hordes Of Chaos'."
